"If you want peace, prepare for war."
Let's add a corollary or two:
"If you want peace, do not start wars."
"If you can't help but use your military now that you have it, and just have to start a war, have a plan."
"If you have a plan, have an obtainable goal as determined by realists, not ideologues."
"If you have a goal, obtain it by going in with overwhelming force and meeting the goal."
But first, "If you want peace, do not start wars, especially optional wars fought for economic gains for multi-national corporations."
Your citation is rather like the Challenger shuttle - good mission, starts out well, and then the fatal flaws tragically tear it apart. The conclusions are silly.
