Space/Science

50 years of space, how to get children interested...

Like Keith, I became interested in space after seeing 2001 before the real moonlandings.
I can't see the movie as anachronistic, though...But Nasa's problem is that it faces realities (boring events, technical glitches, weather and human frailties) while SF movies always show...fiction...Can both be combined?
Or is there (or should there be) room for a new Stanley Kubrick?

Does the public know how difficult it is to see stars in space, what weightlessness does, what a long time flight does?

Reality is different from fiction...but sometimes reality is better...none of the 2001 orbital sceneries match this one, for instance. The only thing to add, is music.
