At 3:30 Pacific time...
there wasn't much light from the moon at all!
I was surprised how dark it was - I had a hard time even seeing it at first (though there is a fair bit of light polution from my vantage point).
It really does invoke awe - hard to imagine what eclipses would have done for folks from thousands of years ago.
