And yes, wearing local diamonds has that nice little ring to it, like eating local vegetables or growing your own. I was in the gem and mineral business for years, so I have quite a collection. I make a point of staying out of rock shops now as I always find one that wants to follow me home.
And I had a pair of natural herkimers from upstate New York that I made into earrings 20 years ago and they are still beautiful.
