I don't know what the proper remedy is. Specific instances of inciting violence can be dealt with legally. Opinions on Western values, however screwy, and restrictions on their own members are not crimes.
I think just shedding light on this issue helps a lot. I still believe a large majority of Muslims do not agree with this kind of thinking.
Philosophical comments:
I don't believe this would be as much of a threat if our own culture hadn't been committing suicide, largely at the hands of those in institutions that should be preserving it. A healthy body doesn't fear infection as much as a weaker one.
People are hearing certainty, pride, and commitment from Islam, and amorality and self-contempt from their own cultural leaders. The actual bloody details are almost lost in the emotional perception, especially for people who long ago stopped using anything but emotion to make decisions.
I don't know. There's a line for nations and cultures that has jingoism and lack of self-judgment on one end, and passivity, endless guilt, and cultural suicide on the other. Western civilization used to be too far in the jingoism direction. I'm now thinking it's gone too far the other way.
