I served my country in 1982 and my country is member of NATO.
NATO is what kept the Soviets from (perhaps) invading Europe, NOT JUST THE US !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep that in mind.

Europe was liberated from the Nazis by an international allied force composed of many countries and also colonies from the occupied countries. Antwerp was actually liberated by British troops.
The end of WW2 resulted in the creation of NATO and the UN.
The number one UN chart is about non interference of sovereign states, precisely because Hitler violated that.
Now, violating that same non interference principle is exactly what Bush did in Iraq. This is why we found this war so catastrophic. Keep that in mind too.
