Remembering 9/11- going back to 12/31/99

New years eve, December 31 1999. I remember sitting around with all my friends. They are all IT computer geeks like me. We all had our beepers on just in case the Y2K bug trashed our systems.

I remember tell them something like this; “This last century was a violent one for mankind. So much war and death. May this new century be a peaceful and prosperous one. May this be the century where mankind comes together to explore and settle space.”

Then 9/11 happened and I saw mankind was not ready for peace :(
