He was searching for a dry lakebed, right? Maybe he found one, but it wasn't dry.

Google Earth doesn't work on my crappy computer. Mapquest supposedly allows map searches based on lat/long but I keep getting an error for any location in the US. Can anyone with Google Earth tell me if there are any lakes within a 500 mile radius of his takeoff location?
