All on par for late 70s sci-fi.
I was "fortunate" enough to see this one when it first came out. Ornella Muti and Max von Sydow pretty much were acting in a complete talent vacuum. The early eighties sci-fi flicks weren't much better, only more violent.
One views this stuff with the same approach as spaghetti westerns, it's made to laugh at - not to take seriously. ;-)
