Well I don't rule out America launching a few [conventional explosive] airstrikes
against Iran...just to keep Israel from dropping a few well-placed tactical nukes on
Iran's nuclear & missile facilities.
Problem with that?
You can bet your ass that Iran has a few "sleeper' terrorist-cells within the United States.
Iran will blame any and all terror-attacks in the USA on Al-Qaeda....convenient.

Also...If the Iranian government is willing to lose a few million people due to US retaliation, I can't rule out Iranian suicide-bombers flying power-gliders (with radar-absorbing materials)
on a moonless night into fully-armed and fueled F-18's on the decks of an American aircraft-carrier in the Gulf...The death toll is too horrible to contemplate.
Think of what happened to the WW2 American aircraft carrier the USN Franklin in 1945.
