Remember MIR

MIR stayed in orbit way past its original lifespan. Around a decade longer I believe but I don't have the numbers. If ISS were abandoned in less than a decade after construction is completed it would be criminal.

I think Lee was saying the original service module which everything else is built off is the killer, as it is nearing the end of its lifespan. Couldn't a newer service module or a Bigelow module replace it with a number of spacewalks?
