That brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for the link. I'll think of O'Hare in a different way now.
I was there once and it was huge and intimidating. I was 20 years old, had flown out of KC, the first time I'd flown. I was going to England to join my new husband at Bentwaters RAF. My TWA flight at KC was late and they got me rapidly on a flight that was just ready to take off so I could make my connection in Chicago and could get to London's Heathrow on schedule. I barely had time to say goodbye to my parents. In Chicago, a TWA attendant met me at the gate and walked me to the gate way the heck across the concourse where my international flight would be boarding later. In those days, airlines gave service, catered to passengers and flying was awesome.
I'd love to see the memorial to Mr. O'Hare. A wonderful story --I'm glad I was there once.
