but he's a short man. In this country men just can't be short and command respect even if they truly deserve it. I have an unjustifiable prejudice towards short men and yet none at all towards small women.

I can rationalize that idiocy by the fact that statistically, of the really jerky and pushy men I've encountered in life, a disproportionate number of them have been smaller than average. I think that's a tough burden on a man psychologically when they're genetically designated to be the strong and virile sex. Some (and probably Kucinich is one of them) rise above that pressure and become exemplary individuals but it can't be easy.

I wonder what the statistics are for Presidential heights through the ages? I think all the modern ones in my lifetime have been fairly tall guys.

I wish it didn't matter to the public and that I didn't fall into the same trap myself.
