I'm having too much fun with this, I suppose. The guy is such a scoundrel it's hard to not sort of like him, and it's sort of nice to see him so uncomfortable.
I thought he had been pretty vocal about his arrest. He briefly tried the entrapment routine, but quickly saw that would be in effect admitting to homosexual behavior (not that there's anything wrong with that). Then the "wide stance" stuff, and since then the emminently more practical "I didn't do anything wrong." Which is technically true, though soliciting for sex in a public restroom isn't considered OK. And is a nuisance. And, not so technically, illegal.
Just as it is from street corners.
"Idaho Republican agrees to interview on NBC next week, network says."
"Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, who has defied calls for his resignation after he pleaded guilty in an airport restroom sex sting, will discuss his case for the first time in a nationally televised interview next week, NBC said Thursday."
Questions for Lauer to ask might be:
"Were you soliciting oral or anal sex, or both?"
"Would you consider yourself something more of a giver or receiver in these situations?"
"Do you use condoms?" "Which brand and style?"
"How often have you flown through Minneapolis instead of directly to your destination when you could have?"
Ya need any more help, Matt, just post on Community. I'm here to assist.
