I did a little looking around. Apparently, it can work under certain circumstances, on steel sheet metal with small dents. Some places recommend heating it good with a hair dryer or something first.

Try it on an inconspicuous spot, first. Don't know what it will do to paint. And the dry ice? Big gloves!
