The promised "October Surprise".

Turning Point

The issue at hand is Iran's nuclear facilities. As you may, or may not know, Putin recently visited Ahraminajed and comforted him about Russian/Iran ties in an increasingly hostile enviornonment. Presently Russia is fulfilling an 800 million dollar contract to establish the Bushehr nuclear reactor in Iran this was drawn up in January of 1995 - right about the time Clinton was in the midst of Monicagate. Another reason a philandering President is never good to have in office when the world needs monitoring and US supervision.

And in July 2002 Russia approved a deal which would build up to 6 nuclear reactors in Iran. Blueprints for a heavy water reactor were already supplied to Iran in 1998 - after Iran had been making steady payments to Russia. In August of 1995 Russia already agreed to provide nuclear fuel for the completed Bushehr plant for 10 years. Sergey Tretyakov, Russia's ambassador to Iran in 1996 said that and concernes of proliferation or weaposn development were "the problem of the United States, not Russia".

What most folks don't know, and which is not common knowledge is the Russian companies have, since 1996 been exporting missile technology to Iran. The Polyus SRI and Inor Production Association have been caught delivering ballistic missile composite material to Iran - all this prior to 2000, during Clinton's term. Rocket engines, guidance equipment and Russian specialists have allegedly been training Iranians and setting up a ballistic missile program for Iran - since 1996.

Here we are in 2007, Iran tested it's ballistic missile this year and has the fuel for a nuclear warhead. Their leader is belligerant and declaring Israel must be destroyed. He laughs at the international community because he now has a working ballistic missile, nuclear fuel and a healthy nuclear weapons program that will deliver the goods. He, most likely has everything he needs to launch a number of ballistic missiles at Israel and now just needs the final touch - the nuclear bombs to equip them with.

Nothing has stopped him so far and in fact he is certain, with Russian and French financial interests so heavy in the nation (as Saddam had) that the US will be impotent to strike at him. The political propaganda at diminshing US efforts in the middle east is at an all-time high and he even wants to "put a wreath at ground zero" and speak at Columbia University, which he does - and gets the necessary anti-western, anti-US, anti-zionist propaganda to deliver back home.

Putin confirms, he'll stand by Iran - with upwards of 20 billion dollars in continued reactor development and operation revenues, (for equipment, fuel and more) Putin is putting the Russian wallet ahead of Middle East peace. There is no money in peace.

That's where we're at. Each day that passes with inaction agains Iran's nuclear program puts WWIII a bit closer.

France has been firmer, primarily thanks to Sarkozy's victory, but they still are straddled with buku ties financially to Iran and when popular support to punish Iran is needed - the French corporate interests and people will speak with their wallets - as has Russia.

However, even France realizes, a nuclear weapon armed Iran is a bit insane and will likely provoke a middle east WWIII, which would very likely expand into Europe & Africa. Once war is declared USA, Australia, India and other nations would likely receive nuclear fallout and direct attack attempts as well as terror attempts.

It's a dire political scenario. Cheney today confirmed that in his speech, what was missing was the detail's I've filled in here which are too long for the media soundbyte/ public short attention span.

Sarkozy's divorce is a distraction - but possibly it's good to get it out of the way instead of to keep him preoccupied with it during the next critical months.

Let's hope our intelligence gathering in the region has greatly improved due to our on the ground presence in Iraq.
