Some amusing idiocy from Lindy's trash site:
"Beck also has a poll up on his site with the question: "Conspiracy Craziness: Anyone who believes our government could have successfully planned 9/11 is not only giving them too much credit, but they're also insane. Do you agree or disagree?" Oops, Mr. Glen. The results as I work this column: I agree: 2,279. I disagree: 7,045. It would appear Beck's own audience doesn't even agree with him. Wait, it gets better."
http://www.newswithviews.com/Devvy/kidd317.htm
So, less than 1/3 of people disagree with idea that govt is too incompetent and the people holding conspiracy theories of govt involvement in 911 are insane.
So this in the mind of fools like Lindy thinks it refutes "Beck" [whoever this Beck is] in someway.
First of all, everyone of any group will not agree 100% on ANYTHING. E.g. Is the world flat? Do the earth orbit the Sun. Etc.
Second it's sample of a TV audience and those who are willing to take the time to respond. People who generally watch TV are losers who have nothing better to do with their lives. Those that would normally respond are a even worse in terms of the general sample.
Now, if I were to respond, I don't think I could totally agree with the question. And I do hold that the government is, as a general rule, incompetent. And I hold that many people tend to spend most of their lives not being rational most of the time. And the people who believe in various conspiracies are a select group of people who are particularly highly irrational and who appear similar to a person who is clinically insane.
But as a generalization if I had to pick between insane or ignorance I say it is mostly a matter of ignorance.
And I would say the level ignorance demonstrated by a sizable percent of the public is in fact "alarming" but not in the least surprising.
Just looking two factors: the Public Education and wide use of street drugs. To me it's almost surprising that it's not worse than it it apparently is.
So I would say that the poll, indicates that Beck's audience appears in general more educated and rational audience than is typical. And if Beck's audience were instead to have say 90% or more agreement on this issue- it shouldn't be topic he should even address- that is known as preaching to the choir- and is seen a cowardly, useless, and boring thing to do, unless you happen to be a lefty in desperate need of massaging your idiocy.
