What do these people have in common?

This post is dedicated to Bowser, for reasons that will become obvious.

What do these people have in common?
[no historical order]

David Livingstone.
George Fox.
William Wilberforce.
John [Amazing Grace] Newton.
Dalai Lama.
Reverend Chinoquay.
The Buddhist monks in Burma [today].
Cardinal Sin [in the Philippines in 1985].
John Brown [Calvinist].
The Buddhist monks in Saigon [1963].
Pastor John Wesley.
The Lutheran pastors in East Germany upto 1989.
Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.
Pastor Roger Williams [Rhode Island, 1600's].
Bishop Desmond Tutu.
Moses.
Corrie Ten Boom [concentration camp victim]
Harriet Beecher Stowe [Congregationalist].
And countless thousands of others, far too many to list here....

The first obvious thing these people have in common is/was a strong religious faith.

The second is/was there dedication to social justice and active sympathy & work to those
who are oppressed and who suffer.

So, Bowser...Your anti-God rants are aimed at the wrong target.
Yes, it's easy for an atheist like yourself, to target religion as the source of the world's evils.
I coul say the same thing about the human reptilian cortex, or DNA.

But I've posted these names to make you eat your words...

Unlike you, Bowser, these people mentioned did not respond to the world's evils and injustices with a bitter cynicism and distrust, but with sacrifice and determination bent on making the world a better place.

BTW, I'm not advocating an ecumenical philosophy.....All you have to do to
see the folly of ecumenicism is look at Europe's history, past and present.
But that's another post to come in time.
