Quality Control

I just purchased an incredible sewing machine. I know how to sew, but have not had a reliable machine in over a decade. I am preparing to sew again for the first time in 15 years.

I bought a pattern for sizes 8-16. I am a size 8-10...off the rack. Well not according to Simplicity. I read the stats and evidently I am a size 16!!! Okay, for you men...first of all, I am sure you are extremely aware of how women perceive their bodies...and size does matter.

I have lost a great deal of weight. Size 16 was 45 lbs.ago for me(not my initial size). It was a triumphant moment indeed 3 years ago when I was once again in the smaller size 'plus' section....

What is up with this huge discrepancy?
They say Marilyn Monroe was a size 16....well by MY standards she was petite and cute. By Simplicitys' standards she and I are ready for Omar the Tent Maker. GEEZ.

I am sew discouraged.
