Either a moral standard applies, or it doesn't. If people are only concerned about Pakistan because that country has nukes and has been anti-al Qaeda, then why the knotted knickers about a leader with those views tightening his grip on power?
If it's actually about freedom, constitutions, and democracy, then I expect to see as much indignation about one country as the other.
For the record, we import about 1.3 million barrels of oil from Venezuela per day, compared to 1.5 million from Mexico, 1.5 million from Saudi Arabia, 1.2 million from Nigeria, and 2.5 million from Canada.
