I've never seen that particular explanation for a dictator placing a rival under arrest.

We've all seen the term "protective custody", and certainly read of witness protection, and those have been in the best interests of the power structure.

It's nice to see Musharref being so benevolent. I hope he doesn't let her go, thereby tossing her to the wolves.
