Apollo 8 and 17: december
Galileo Earth encounters: december
NEAR Earth encounter: also winter
Rosetta Earth encounter and Kaguya: november

Cassini Earth encounter: august BUT no pictures (too bright for cameras meant for Saturn).

Every time (except for Apollo 11 and perhaps Clementine), it's during the northern hemisphere's winter season...Meaning, the Earth's axis points away from the Sun for the US and Europe...and we're at a bad angle.

This is why I want Triana back!!
