re: Smoky smell in spacesuit.
I heard Suni Williams say during her stay at the ISS that when one returns from an EVA and the hatch doors open, you can smell what seems to be soldered or cynched metal. Interesting when you think about all the exposed metal that the ISS has and everything else that may be floating out there.
If they smelled a smokey smell from 'inside' a suit, yeah, that's cause for concern.
