Today Bosnia, Kosovo, and Albania are being used as points of entry into Europe by Islamic Fundamentalists. The Jihadists are using the area as a base of operations. The Srbs knew this and were trying to stop it, but being seen as anti-Islam wasn't politically correct so the West came to the aid of the Muslim extremists.
The Croats and Serbs should've been urged to work together to create a stable situation back in the mid 90s. Bosnia should've been partitioned down the middle with half going to Croatia and the other half to Serbia. The Serbs should've been left alone when dealing with the Islamic radicals in Kosovo. The KLA was little different from the extremists in Chechnya or Afghanistan. Helping them has only created a hornets' nest in Southern Europe.
