Free trade is creating better, higher tech jobs and technology in America and creating an INTERdependent world where war between trading partners is economic suicide.

This is actually a national security issue and Pat has a point here.

Wages for educated workers are doing just fine. Further, the true minimum wage is higher than what the government mandates. Standards of living in America are higher by far than anytime in history. Most CEOs who are making these high incomes have to answer to shareholders if they don't produce.

• The Third World invasion through Mexico is a graver threat to our survival as one nation than anything happening in Afghanistan or Iraq

Most Hispanics born in America have no desire to see the SW become part of Mexico. The millions of Whites, Asians and Blacks in the SW part of America don't even think about this. It's a preposterous thing to fear. It will NEVER happen.

Great idea! Let's destabilize the entire global order! Isolationism worked so well after WWI when we weren't even a huge factor, right!? Image the kind of damage done now? Unchecked wars in the middle east, former Soviet Union, Korea, the Balkans, EVERYWHERE; this guy needs a frontal lobotomy!

A good idea, but not for the reasons Pat asserts.

Mixed feelings on this. We need to strengthen our ties with Russia while checking any aggressive tendencies they may display.

Yes! Let's start a trade war and end the great era of free trade started by visionary Sec of State Cordell Hull. What could happen besides another world war?

America has always been a tangle of squabbling nationalities. The biggest difference is we are squabbling far less now than ever before.
