re: Slavery?

Yes, slavery.

"Rich" white older females exploiting the ultra poor Kenyans who are grateful for a "new shirt" and "sunglasses" for sexual favors is hardly different from the white older male plantation owners who had their way with the plantation slave "colored" girls who were in no position to complain because they needed the security and wealth of the plantation owner for their survival.

If it was reprehensible for the plantation owners to do such in 1860, why shouldn't the same outrage be directed at the same mindset - nearly a hundred and fifty years later in 2007?

Sure some of them are "happy" sex slaves. It's their choice. But is it really a choice if they are that poor?

It's a great example of racism, sexism and bigotry that so many folks here have been very busy lately railing against when they see such in conservatives.

Which is it? Is racism & bigotry bad or simply bad when conservatives are racist? Is it a part of life one should accept and exploit? You and alcaray seem to see nothing wrong with it.

Is that all the simple, poor young Kenyans are good for - stud service to aging, lonely females? What if they were black males in DC or LA? Would it still be ok? And how do you two feel about Jim Crow?

Hey, if they act like they don't have any dignity...why should we pretend they have any at all? Like prostitutes and gigolos everywhere, we might as well go back to the good ol days where women/men can buy their male/female slaves outright for 250 dollars and take them home to live with until they tire of them and resell them. This half-hearted, temporary slavery you have to travel all the way to Kenya for seems rather wasteful of resources and leaves to big a "carbon footrpint" with all that senseless plane travel.

And as for repression, if my views on the matter are the byproduct of repression, than I thank goodness I am repressed.
