There isn't a Conservative on these boards who could make a junior high school debate team. Not one. While my behavior hasn't been the best, I can "fight fair", stick to a subject, and avoid invective if I try. I'm convinced, finally, that our neocons do not have the slightese idea how that can be done. I haven't seen the slightest hint.

Your call on TB's "Democrats furious" post was right on. That post really says nothing about Democrats, says a lot about TB. Not everything about him, but most of it.

Lee's answer to your "warning" post was a perfect example of what the kind of person with whom I would not associate would say. Now I didn't read his post, didn't have to, and couldn't avoid the subject line. So much for the "don't open 'em line".

I've been gone, beyond internet accessibility, for a while. I suspect I'll be gone a bit more, as I'm losing interest in some folks. ER hit it right on the head as he described them as people who aren't interested in reality, in an exchange of ideas. Experience has shown they can only pass along what Limbaugh, Coulter, Bush or Cheney has told them. And they regard that as the immutable truth, suspending disbelief in favor of authoritarism and corporate socialism, glorifying greed and enjoying the role of the US as a bully rather than a positive influence in the world.

And if one doesn't think those descriptions are true, read those folks again.

I sure miss ER. He was thought-provoking. And if the HZ isn't the kind of place that can keep an ER, well, sez a lot.
