I think it would neat, if candidates would spend a couple years or more doing the job they trying to get elected to.
In other words a person could be a virtual Senator- vote on bills, make speeches, etc. Therefore like tank commander doing simulations, they would better prepared for the job- and public could know their positions better.

Therefore it would take less time to learn the ropes and therefore provide stronger argument for term limits.

In addition, you could say we live in a faster world and an elected official can have and usually has a more hectic schedule. So like changing out players in a hockey game one get better results with shorter terms and term limits- assuming the "players" knew what they were doing.
