re: So if Oprah's a Sugar Mommy then what's Chuck Norris?

Only you could see racism in that crack. Look at the picture. Age-wise, maturity and mannerisms makes it look like he could be her son. He doesn't carry any gravitas. Like it or not, he also seems quasi-effeminate. Nothing about him says strong leader - at all.

I'm not rooting for Huckabee and anyways Chuck Norris hasn't anywhere near the wealth or current celebrity Oprah enjoys. Most folks under 30 probably don't even recognize Norris. Huckabee also has a snowball's chance in heck of securing the nomination even though he appeals to the fundamentalist crowd.

In matters of politics, it often is all about money. If Oprah bankrolls Obama he can outspend Hillary ten to one in crucial television, radio and print advertising - and the "free" advertising that comes from "Oprah appearances" as faux news items. If her appearance is a one-time wonder with a small donation, he hasn't a chance in hades of beating the Clinton corruption machine.

Rove was giving advice to Obama, not because he wants him to beat her - merely he wants the Democrats focus to be on those two. Because they both are easily defeatable in the general election. Another white male, a Kerry or a Gore would be a far tougher challenge. And yes, that is racist and sexist, but the demographics indicate a sizable number of Americans think in those terms.

Believe it or not when the media is spending all their time talking about Hillary and Obama - not all of them are doing so because they actually want a Democrat President elected in 2008. It's merely fairly sophisticated corporate media subterfuge. I don't approve of it, but I can easily recognize it when I see it.
