Space/Science » in reply to Orion is the right design

re:Is the Orion right design?

As someone else already pointed out your argument is a false one. The Saturn V flew as few as a dozen times the Shuttle has flown about a hundred times with two failures. This is not proof of the Saturn system being superior to the STS.

The reason of all this redesign of the escape system of the Orion is an explosion of the stage below would have pasted over the capsule. Making those in it toast before the thrust pulled them out of the blast wave.

A capsule is no safer than a spaceplane if both designs are done correctly. Nobody in their right mind would repeat the errors of the STS, but it being a reusable spaceplanes was not one of the errors.
