I was using this unfortunate incident to satirize some right wing commentators who are upset by the fact President Obama does not automatically slander all Muslims in general when referring to terrorist acts committed by Muslim extremists.
The President, like President Bush before him, is trying to use rhetoric that does not insult our Muslim allies or encourage domestic bigots to retaliate against innocent American Muslims. This is a policy I support, and feel everyone else should as well, not just for practical reasons, but because it is right.
He has gotten a lot of flak about this from FOX news and several GOP presidential candidates, who want him to say "Islamic Terrorists", presumably because it makes them feel better to wield the wide brush. I attempted to duplicate their language but substituted the appropriate religious and political adjectives for their benefit.
That's why I made the comment that signaled this was a sarcastic post. After all, we don't even know for sure yet if this guy knew he was attacking a Planned Parenthood office, the sort of facility Christian right wing terrorists have targeted in the past. He may have just ducked into the nearest building, not knowing or caring who or what it was. He might just be a crazy guy with no political motives at all.
I just felt the wingnuts would benefit by being dished out some of their own knee-jerk rhetoric when their own politics and religion was involved. The post was not about gun control at all, and you already know what my opinions on that issue are.

I think you missed my point, Pod.
