In that this microb appears to convert CO2 + H2 => CH4 + 02.
That might make the other biogas processes even more efficient and economically senseable (assuming the other anaerobic bacteria which proroduce CH4 + CO2 + H2, can co-exist easily with this new bacteria)
Also, this bacteria isn't converting from just biomass...It appears to be working along with a 2nd bacteria to converting longer chain hydrocarbons into shorter chain hydrocarbons.
It definitly sounds like if perfected, it will revitalize drilling in regions where the oil deposits are not otherwise economically harvestable.
I think we may be headed to a future where domestically produced natural gas will be more widely available as a replacement for gasoline, coal, and other fuels.
