I have to say this because I've been thinking about this issue for some time. Those that are interested in Astronomy or even space travel as a whole. Be it engineering, astrobiology, etc. All these young people have had to go on are the Star Trek shows and their fascimiles or video games to get their 'now fix' on the subject, they've not gone far. So, now it's the pc. True that some may just be looking for the adventure, but there's that one third part (at least) of those that are actually looking for that 'in hands' factor and they have no other means. Still, it's 2D for goodness sakes.
I know that pc's and the games that are affiliated with it can alleviate the needs to strive in some goals, but it does not alleviate such in the long run, for real, for some. Especially for those that have a serious interest in the real thing.
In short, pc games cannot deliver the same satisfaction as the real thing can.
If it can inspire an interest in Math, Biology, Geology, Physics, Astrophysics, Astrobiology and even Astrogeology, great because that's where it's at.
