I wonder
if contingency planning is beginning with the teams of the 3 remaining Mars orbiters to respond to the thing if the impact does occur. Can you imagine having MRO capture the impact or the aftermath in its cameras? We certainly know, if the proper path does occur, which day and probably what side of the planet the thing would hit so I'd hope the orbits were being analyzed to see if they'd be compatible.
