re: Why does Habitable Zone try to post to the clipboard when I post?

Robert plugged in a safety feature that copies your message onto the clipboard so if it crashes on being posted, you haven't lost it. This is kind of handy for most of us.

Until I got IE 7, this process was totally transparent. Now, IE 7 has somewhat higher security functions, so a warning box is a default. Nothing at all harmful is being done by this clipboard copying, so you can just click "proceed" or whatever it says each time the box comes up when you post something.

Or, if that gets annoying (and it does), you can turn the function off. Go to the Internet Options under "Tools," and click on the "Security" tab.

Under "Security Level For This Zone" click on "Custom level" for settings.

Down near the end of the list of selections will be a section on "Scripting." There's a setting called "Allow Programmatic Clipboard Access." Switch it to "enable," and the warnings will go away.

If you're paranoid about doing this universally, go to main Security tab, and click on "Trusted Sites." Click on "Sites" and add the HZ address to the list there (I have about five sites on this list). Then change the settings described above only for that zone. The rest of your internet accesses will still keep an eye open for clipboard writes, but not on the Zone.
