But I do have some criteria for selecting the Capital of the World:

It should be someplace inconvenient to almost everybody. The connecting airport should be far from the Capital, small, and without a lot of amenities. Hotels should be crappy, and streets badly paved.

The Capital buildings should not be air-conditioned, and windows should have to be opened for cooling. If there are many bugs in the region, this would be a plus.

The water should give everyone the shits.

It should be as difficult and uncomfortable as possible for those who want to rule the world to get together and make rules to take even more of our freedoms from us. And believe me, 90 percent of what the people in a World Capital would do would fall under that category.

I have a theory that the Federal Government in America really started going downhill in the early 1930s, when air conditioning began to appear on a large scale in Washington DC.
