Thank you for your interest. You are correct, the price is high for this book.
We wanted to put together a special book that had extraordinary vivid glorious photos of the Moonwalk. So we used the best printing quality available. The goodwill message from each nation is also on a map background that highlights each nation in gold. This is really a coffee-table style book that will last a very long time. There are only 3,000 copies and we will not be making a paperback version. That takes away from the beauty of this 3.5 pound book with heavy gloss paper.
There is an entire generation of young people that did not see the Moon landing (I was only 10 months old). They deserve a chance to read about and to see mankind's greatest adventure.
Also, I believe that the world needs to see those goodwill messages in their native languages (the NASA press release never did them justice). We went to the archives and found them. It brings an emotional response from people of those nations to see their native languages in the book, and to realize that it is on the Moon today!
Many libraries are purchasing the book for their collections.
Also, there are used books available on Amazon.com for very reasonable prices.
