The Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Explorer 1 spacecraft became
America's first Earth-orbiting satellite when it sailed into space
on January 31, 1958. A series of upcoming events will commemorate

space age. From January 24 through February 1, JPL will host events
including film screenings of a new documentary on the Explorer 1
mission; a reunion of the JPL "58ers" who worked on the mission; and
a laboratory-wide celebration for JPL employees and alumni. Click here[1]
