The title of my post is from the famous Volkswagen Bug
ad of 1969, which depicted a model of the Apollo Lunar
Module and the VW symbol beneath the phrase.

The same could easily be said of the Lunakhods, which
successfully operated twice for months on the lunar surface.

A third one which was never launched made a tour of
Soviet space artifacts in 1990, which I was lucky enough
to see in person. I actually admire how "alien" it looked -
it's exploring space, after all.

The few very brief clips they showed of the SC program
during the ad indicates there will be a lot of footage of
the Lunakhod program never seen in the West before,
at least certainly not on a large scale.
