Riskiest year ever for gazing into crystal balls

One aspect of this year that's emerging as a major factor muddying the waters when it comes to crystal ball gazing is the record number of people voting early, absentee or mail-in where available. The situation's fluid, and to some degree (1/3 in some of the elections) the results are reflecting yesterday's opinions. The phenomenon seems to benefit last week's front-runner.

Then you have the candiates bowing out. Where will Edwards' delegates go? What about Rudy 911's delegate (seriously, just 1)?

Last but not least are the "super-delegates". I confess I was unaware of their existence in the primary system, but evidently members of Congress and a great many political hacks are "entitled" to be delegates under Party rules. Something like a quarter of the total. That's a pretty sizeable wildcard.

I must disagree a bit Donald, I think the situation's too fluid to make a prediction like that. It'll be very interesting next Tuesday as the early vote counts are released as soon as the polls close, and we'll get our first look at the size of that "tail".
