re: Careful

I am pretty good with working on pre 1990 cars. A lot of that is with the Engines, which will be no help here. I have done some electrical. I am sure there will be a learning curve, but I like to learn new things.

The tricky part looks like hooking it up to the gas petal. Also hooking it up to go reverse. Then there will need to be some kind of volt meter. I would also like some gauge to tell me how much power I have left on the batteries. And it would be really great to create a program that monitors the batteries and lets you know how much life they have left- but that is probably beyond my skills.

It doesn’t look very expensive- probably between 4 and 5 grand. I can get a Bug with no engine for $500 - $1000 in decent shape.

I got time to think about it. I got to finish my chemo, have my second surgery, and replenish my savings that medical bills has eaten before I take on such a project.
