Yesterday I went to our observation place in the hope I'd be able to spot ISS and Atlantis before docking at 17:42 CET but no luck...too clear sky (though others did see them and separate with binoculars).
The Ashraf joined me and we prepared our stuff for the evening; I had been in contact with a journalist from a local TV station who wanted to interview us on the spot...
The Moon was great: tiny crescent, Earthshine and several stars being occulted (through the binos)!
The ISS passed, with Atlantis docked at 19:14
Then the journalists came and we showed them the heavens (very clear sky!!) and they interviewed me. I explained our club, what we were doing, our "Night of the Darkness" event for march 15th....
We were quite numerous because of the media presence and the starry night and it wasn't too cold.
We won't forget it!
Memorable evening!
Thierry, one of our members, made this interesting picture :-))
