I can imagine a chimp watching a human gymnast.

Mother Chimp: "Yes, son, they can jump and swing and twirl, but only a few of them. And even those can't do it to travel from place to place or to find and gather dinner. Even though we have missionaries and teachers in zoos, no matter how often they demonstrate the correct procedures humans just watch rather stupidly. I'm sorry, but they have a ways to go to get to where we are. They do the best they can, I guess."

Daddy Chimp: "And remember, if they tried to live outside all the time they'd die. Haven't evolved to the point where they have enough hair to get along, really. I could go on, son, but you get the point. You are one lucky chimp to be living during these times.!"

A lot of it just may be perspective.
