The world may know this, I didn't. Go into Google Earth and hit "Ctrl-Alt-A" and it takes you into a flight simulation program. You have your choice of a fast or slow airplane with which to navigate the terrain, which is Google Earth. One can fly over their house, a friends house, retrace a walk in the woods, all in amazing, if not perfect, detail.
One may use keyboard to navigate the terrain but it's easier to just plug in a joystick. I dragged one out that hasn't been used in years, and Vista found it immediately and calibrated it automatically. Was ready to go.
Now I don't know at what cost that was done, but it works.
And the cheaper quad Core 2 chip with a $100 graphics card manages to fly the plane smoothly and keep the scenery at a decent level.
I'm amazed!
