Upon consultation with my brain trust, relying upon minds more agile than mine, people who aren't as open and accepting as I, some of them downright cynical, the poor bastards, the conclusion of these folks is that you MAY, just may, aren't saying you are, but just may be making a statement and not really asking a question.

Now my response is that would be chickenshit and underhanded, unworthy of a Democrat or even Independent, and certainly not your way of relating, which is honest and aboveboard. Straightforward. From the heart. Commendable. Certainly not cowardly and indirect, as they are insinuating, or at least at which they are hinting.

But these people insist.

What is a poor old dumb son-of-a-bitch like me to do? Answer your query in the hope of elucidating the good in the world for you, in the hope of bringing some joy into your life, in the hope of penetrating your suspiciousness with a spiritual enlightenment?

Or listen to the cynics, the people who think that might not be an honest question? The people who don't know and love you?
