I am starting to hear the disjointed tones of Neros fiddle.
My concern is that the policy on the economy is pretty much like the policy on Iraq: Insist there is no problem until January 20th 2009. Then its the Democrats fault all along.
Just looking at even the 'Fed approved' numbers for the money supply, it gets really hard to say there isn't a problem. Looking at other numbers, like M3 and M4- its pretty darn clear there is a problem.
For the coming economic downturn, I expect this to be the mantra:
Money Money everywhere but not a dollar to loan.
On a lighter note, if you have fixed interest debt, or can consolidate your debt to a fixed interest asset-backed loan (home equity), now is a great time to do it. As long as your wages rise (!) in an inflationary spike, fixed interest debt is a winner- though your retirement fund may become a joke.
