Salesman comes to work, drunk as a Lord. The Sales Manager takes him to task, lectures him on the value of sobriety and the necessity of being a credit to the company.
The guy tells the Sales Manager to go screw himself.
Oh, yeah, says the SM. Oh yeah??!! I'm going to go tell the President what you just said.
Tell him to go piss up a rope, says the Salesman. Tell him to piss up that rope real high!
Sales Manager heads off in the direction of the executive offices, barges in on the President and relates his encounter.
Well, says the President, go fetch that guy's personnel records.
Perusing the records the President notes this guy has been the top Salesman for 4 years running, has signed up the companies 3 biggest accounts, and rarely even shows up at the office except to get his rather sizeable checks.
And, says the Sales Manager, he never shows up for Sales Meetings. I barely know what he does.
Hmmm, says the Prez.
Well, what are we going to do, demands the Sales Manager.
Well, says the President, I guess I'm going to get a bit wet, but you really have a problem.
