Science Fiction » in reply to My wife and I are officially the last two people on earth to see the new Star Wars movie

I remember my first exposure to Star Wars

It was the first movie, and everybody was buzzing about it. We knew it was science-fiction, and we had read the Time article reviewing it, but
we still weren't ready for it.

My friend Roger and I, and our girl friends Circus Lady and Little Beaver, copped a righteous buzz and went down to the local movie house to check it out. That first scene, after the rolling text crawl, did it. Those spaceships, exchanging laser fire, was unforgettable. And it didn't let up until it was all over.

The magic was perfect, but they never got it back again. They lost me with the Ewoks.
