BAGHDAD (CNN) -- "Adm. William Fallon has resigned as chief of U.S. forces in the Middle East and Central Asia after more than a year in the post, citing what he called inaccurate news reports that put him at odds with the Bush administration over Iran."
This guy clearly states he agrees with the aims of the Bush Administration. He DOES NOT say he agrees with the methods. Even liberals agree with some of the aims of the Bush Administration, that's not the problem. The methods are crude and cruel and absolutely counterproductive and ineffective.
I believe the remainder of the military leadership has concluded it will not pull another Iraq, and follow the political desires of ideologues rather than what they perceive as military necessities. That Shinseki is a hero, and Franks, Pace et al. were lapdog syncophants who served the country, and the military, poorly.
There will be more, I believe, as we near the end of Bush's term and the urge to folly becomes stronger.
