I disagree.
It's when the poorest leave, often by very dangerous avenues of escape, that is the most telling. They are the ones that supposedly are best served by these regimes, who have the most to gain by staying. They are not leaving for riches and fame, all they want is a fighting chance.
The athletes and artists are already doing well, they just want more than the share their societies' have already given them.
